All of them are exceptionally good. I really like the 1st one (pencil in the head).
These pieces see and are seen. With out apology the subject gazes out from the painted shadows. There is a story written in the hands and face. Aging hands, ragged nails, broken pencils.. aging leaves, changing seasons, slipping sands… and while the pencil may be cut to a point and the body will heal, there is a season to it all.. and I see these captured moments as the times that have built the man. Either the artist or the viewer because we all see what we need to, when we allow art to move us.
We talked a few days ago and I really enjoyed our conversation. Afterward, I check out your site. I really enjoyed reading ” A Noise in Heaven” and “Portions”. It really reminds me of how Shakespeare wrote a Midsummer Night’s Dream. I would love to read more. What other pieces of work do you have? I’d love to read them.
